World Certificate for Psychotherapy (WCPC)

The procedure for the application is as follows:

The World Certificate for Psychotherapie will be awarded to all psychotherapists who have a psychotherapeutic training according to WCP standards. The WCP standards fully correspond to the ECP standards – which means that every ECP holder can apply for the WCPC without any problems.

If you think that you fulfill the criteria for the certificate, please let us know that you are interested in the award of the WCPC, by writing an email to headoffice@worldpsyche.org . If you are an ECP holder in good standing the only additional thing you need to do to get the WCPC is to transfer the fee for the award. The fee is Euro 350,-- and has to be paid free of any charges for the WCP. You will get our bank details by contacting us.

For more information about the WCPC and to download the application form, please have a look at our homepage www.worldpsyche.org You will find a list of the WCPC holders there as well.

As soon as we receive your fee we will check your status as ECP holder. If everything is OK we will issue the WCPC and send it to you. You then will also be listed in on our homepage (name and country).

Das Web-Angebot richtet sich an Wissenschaftler, Studenten und Praktikanten, die an systemischer Forschung interessiert sind und ihre Arbeitsschwerpunkte etwa in den Feldern Psychotherapie (Psychosomatik, Psychiatrie, Systemische Medizin), Organisationsberatung (Organisationsentwicklung, Coaching) oder soziale Arbeit (Sozial- und Schulpädagogik, Jugendhilfe) haben. Dear colleagues,

The enclosed document is a suggested Template for a National Psychotherapy Law. It is modeled after the guidelines of the European Association of Psychotherapy (EAP) and the Strasbourg Declaration of 1990, as well as after the Austrian Psychotherapy Act of 1990, which was the first national psychotherapy law to have been crafted by members of EAP and passed successfully through their own government body.

The Template for a National Psychotherapy Law is comprehensive and addresses eight issues that are key to the profession of psychotherapy: (1) Definition of the Profession, (2) Training Requirements, (3) Modalities Recognized, (4) Certification, (5) Professional Title, (6) Registration, (7) Exercise of the Profession, and (8) Advisory Council.

Implementation of a National Psychotherapy Law based on this template in as many countries as possible, will establish an internationally uniform set of psychotherapy regulations in accordance to the principles of EAP. This will greatly facilitate the creation of a joint platform in psychotherapy legislature, which in turn will be beneficial both to practitioners and consumers of psychotherapy services on a number of levels.

Psychotherapy regulation on an EU-wide basis will provide consumer protection to those seeking psychotherapy services by establishing clear standards for the practice of psychotherapy, including: training and qualification standards, a code of professional duties and obligations, strict guidelines for ethical conduct, a nationally monitored registry for psychotherapists, and a professional Advisory Council to consult the government on all matters pertaining to psychotherapy. As many countries currently have no such provisions in place, the overall quality of psychotherapy services will be dramatically improved for the consumer.

Psychotherapy regulation on an EU-wide basis will also provide professional protection for the licensed psychotherapy practitioner, preventing intrusion on the profession by non-licensed individuals or by other professions. Furthermore, EU-wide Psychotherapy legislature will enable psychotherapy practitioners to benefit from the Right to Freedom of Movement of Persons -- one of the fundamental freedoms granted under the European Community (EC) Treaty, that in practice cannot be enjoyed by psychotherapists, as their professional qualifications are currently not sufficiently recognized outside of their own country.

Die Patienteninformation über die in Österreich anerkannten psychotherapeutischen Methoden auf der Website des Ministeriums für Gesundheit und Frauen ist neu gestaltet; ab S. 19 findet sich die systemische Orientierung.

Zur Erinnerung: Forbildungsrichtlinien für PsychotherapeutInnen

Wie bekannt müssen sich alle eingetragenen PsychotherapeutInnen laufend fortbilden - mindestens 90h innerhalb der letzten 3 Jahren.
Jährlich werden 1% aller eingetragenen Pth´s, das sind derzeit 57 von 5700, vom Beirat auf ihre absolvierte Fortbildung hin überprüft (ausgenommen LehrtherapeutInnen – da erfolgt die Prüfung über die Jahresberichte. Ausgenommen auch die, die weniger als 3 Jahre eingetragen sind).
Als Fortbildung zählen Theorieveranstaltungen (z.T. auch Literaturstudium), einschlägige Seminare und Workshops, SV bei eingetragenen Pth, Intervision (mit Bestätigung eines Mitglieds dieser Gruppe, das mindestens 5 J. eingetragen ist). Karenz enthebt nicht von Fortbildung.
Die Fortbildung muss psychotherapeutisch orientiert sein (außer das Seminar fällt in den Arbeitsschwerpunkt, also z.B. ein Kongress über Alte Menschen, wenn man mit diesen arbeitet).
Jegliche Änderung der Privat- oder Praxisadresse muss dem Beirat innerhalb eines Monats bekanntgegeben werden - sonst kann u.U. ein aufwendiges Austragungsverfahren in Gang kommen.
